The exhibition, edited by Giorgio Verzotti, proposes a wide excursus about the whole Milanese artist’s activity from the end of the 1950s to the present and the most recently artistic productions with environmental installations and large format works.
More than fifty the works chosen for this exhibition.
Born in 1937, Grazia Varisco is one of the main today’s working artists in Italy in the ambit of research. During her first appearances she spent her time in a common poetics, the Gruppo T, which became one of the benchmarks for kinetic and programmed art in the Italian area, but immediately it was internationally recognized. The letter “T” is Time, which is studied in relation with Space by movement and which place the observer at the centre of the examined perceptive experiences.
The real time as additional dimension makes the work mobile thank motors or the action of the observer himself, who realizes the importance of the ideal and formative process, more than the result of the final work-product.
For the half of 1970s the artist has being continuing with coherence and autonomously  her research and her expositive activity, shifting her attention to the relationship between real spaces and virtual one, inner and outer work, and to the observer’s reaction.
Over the years the work has been further and further thought as environmentally installation, under  titles as “Disarticolazioni” , “Fraktur” , “Gnomoni”, “OH!”, “Soglia”, which interact with the canonical perception of the work in the space, transforming the ambient in a continuous sensory stimulus and the work in a disorienting  device, between realized figures and hinted one.
The constant that forms the whole Grazia Varisco’s work, is the function attributed to the observer, who is called upon as active agent in the verification of the work full of possible IF..
The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue published by Edizioni Gabirele Mazzotta with a critical anthological choice and new Giorgio Verzotti and Elisabetta Longari’s texts.
